Enteritis is the inflammation of the intestine. This has several causes but mainly are bacterial infections. The most common is Escherichia coli (sometimes referred to as E.coli). Occasional cases are due to other bacteria such as Salmonella and Clostridia; in a book a further 12 different bacterial infections with which can cause diarrhea were listed.
